To be held over two days — October 13 and 14 — the Vogue Festival in Rundle Mall and Rundle St will be launched by the face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins. It will include runway shows, giveaways and styling sessions.

The magazine’s editor-in-chief Edwina McCann, who was here for Monday night’s AFF program launch at the Art Gallery of South Australia, said it would be “bigger and bolder” than the Fashion Night Out events in Sydney and Melbourne and give shoppers a VIP experience.

“It’s about injecting optimism and much-needed revenue into the retail sector,” she said.

“We will be wearing Vogue T-shirts so there will be a real sense of Vogue coming to town.”

Ms McCann expected the Vogue Festival and AFF, which runs October 11 to 15, to attract interstate visitors.

IT took 16 hours for David Jones ambassador Jesinta Franklin to bleach her locks blonde for tonight’s fashion extravaganza.

“It’s taken a long time. I had a nap at some point but I read all the magazines I needed to catch up on,” Franklin said.

After receiving a call from the retail giant last week asking her to go a little blonder, the 25-year-old Sydney model headed straight to her local boutique Koda Cutters in Bondi.
